VirginiaQuietCars.org mentioned on national website
VirginiaQuietCars.org is a website dedicated to bringing Virginian's the
latest information about pending national legislation that would ensure that
our city streets and intersections continue to be safe for all pedestrians.
On The National Federation of the Blind's own Quiet Car website
(http://quietcars.nfb.org/), they have added a link to our website as a
resource for the latest information.
VirginiaQuietCars.org contains text and video illustrating how important it
is that the blind be allowed to continue their independence by making Quiet
Cars audible.
There will be a discussion of the topic at this evening's NFBV At-Large
member teleconference. Below is the information from our state President
that will enable you to join the conversation on this very important issue.
Please join us on the phone call and be sure to visit VirginiaQuietCars.org.

This month we will hear from John Bailey. John has set up a new website to
get out information about the quiet cars problem. As you know, hybrid cars
are silent at low speeds. John will discuss the danger quiet cars pose to
blind people and other pedestrians and how the website will be used to
increase awareness among the public and policy makers.
Please plan to join us on Thursday.
Fred Schroeder, President
and
Jessica Kostiw, At-Large Chapter Coordinator National Federation of the
Blind of Virginia
