[Nfbv-announce] Successful Walk with the Blind

We are excited to report that the 12th  annual Walk with the Blind in
historic Fredericksburg on Saturday April 26 was a success.

Almost 50 participants raised over $5400.

Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw welcomed us to City Dock and a motorcycle
procession presented the colors.  Many thanks to our chapter members, their
families and friends.  Special thanks to Mark and Melody Roane for joining
us from Richmond.

 


The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can have the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
