Hello All,

The meeting this Thursday will have a lot to cover. First, we will be talking about blind accessible videos and movies and where to find them. Second, we will be finishing up the planning for our chapter summer picnic and lake swim party (information below). And finally, we will have a recap of our NFB’s national convention where we earned a world’s record.

This is also a dinner meeting where we will have pizza!

We are excited to announce that the July 16, meeting of the Fairfax Chapter of the National
Federation of the blind will be held in a new location. The new location is:

Providence Community Center
3001 Vaden Drive
Fairfax, VA 22031
Phone: (703) 865-0520

The center is two blocks from the Vienna Metro.

We will begin gathering and socializing at 6:30 and
the meeting will start promptly at 7:00 and last to 8:30 PM. We will be meeting in class room 2.

This promises to be a place that will comfortably hold us all and better enable us to conduct
business.

Picnic information is below.

On Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM, you are invited to join the Fairfax Chapter of the NFB at their annual summer party. The Fairfax Chapter has always known how to have a good time. But this year, we have outdone ourselves in summer entertainment.

We will be having a BBQ and lake swimming at the home of Joanne and Patrick who live at Lake Barcroft in Falls Church. We welcome old friends as well as new ones. And, don’t forget to bring your families. The more the merryer!

We ask that all those planning to attend RSVP Cathy Schroeder (Cathy at sks.com) no later than one week prior to the party. We want to make sure to have enough food and drink for everyone. Also, we will be requesting a contribution from those attending the party to help with the costs.

By the way, did I mention we will be having live music! Don’t miss it.

Below are directions to the picnic. Contact Cathy now to let her know you will be attending.
