A) Owning Our Future--A Workshop to Transform Your Career
whether you are just starting out in your career or looking for that
competitive advantage to take your career to its next peak, this
collaborative and engaging dialog will provide you with the confidence,
knowledge, skills, and techniques to achieve your career goals. At this
interactive workshop, you will Learn from others, share your own stories,
and together, create solutions and action that will position each of us for
career success.
B) NFB Chapters - Developing Leaders professionally and personally
Growing Yourself through the Work of the NFB - Learn how your peers are
using the NFB as a proving ground for the skills and confidence to develop
professionally and personally
C) Getting the Rehabilitative Services you Need Better understand how to
advocate with the Virginia Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired
(DBVI) Learn about innovative programs from the department and learn how to
tap DBVI services to obtain/keep / retain your job.
D) Technology Seminar - Learn about the accessibility of Windows 10,
confessions of a MAC user, the next generation of transportation technology
and getting more out of your iPhone
E) Flexible Transit Seminar - Getting where you want to go when you
want to get there
The National Federation of the Blind of Virginia convention combines
excellent networking with positive blind role models, fellowship with old
and new friends across the Commonwealth, and some of the best presentations
on topics important to the blind of Virginia

Virginia convention, is Scheduled for October 30,- November 1 in Tyson's
Corner .
Below, you will find details on convention registration and hotel
reservations.
A) convention Registration
Convention registration is now available via phone, web, or paper form. Act
by October 16 to get the best prices and be entered into a $100 raffle.

Registration Prices and Options:

(Makes you eligible for door prizes and the convention hotel rates) .Banquet
Tickets: $32.00 .Saturday Lunch Tickets: $17.00
.Starting on October 17,the prices are: .Registration: $25.00 (Makes you
eligible for door prizes and the convention hotel rates) .Banquet Tickets:
$37.00
.Each session of Kids Camp Program (child care): $5.00 (The cost is per
family not per child).

available: .Session 1: Friday Morning, 8:45 am to 12:15 pm .Session 2:
Friday Afternoon, 12:15 pm to 5:15 pm .Session 3: Friday Evening, 6:00 pm to
10:00 pm .Session 4: Saturday Morning, 8:45 am to 12:15 pm .Session 5:
Saturday afternoon, 12:15 pm to 5:15 pm .Session 6: Saturday evening, 6:45
pm to 1 hour after banquet adjournment

B) Hotel Reservations
The convention will be held at:

Falls Church, Virginia 22043
To make hotel reservations, call central reservations at (888) 627-8970 and
use code NSJ29A or the hotel directly at (703) 893-1340. Special room rates
have been negotiated for registered convention attendee's. When you call the
hotel, make sure to tell them that you are attending the convention so that
you will receive the special convention rate. The deadline to make hotel
reservations is Friday, October 16, 2015. After the deadline, there is no
guarantee that you will get a room at the convention hotel.
