About Our Salsa Instructor:
Lisa M. Girdy is a native of Reston, VA. She has a BFA in Dance from George Mason University and has taught different styles of dance to students of all ages with different learning abilities for many years. She has worked for dance studios and organizations in the DC metropolitan area, New York, and Rhode Island. She owned Encore! Studio of Dance in Sterling for 10 years and founded Free to Dance Foundation, an organization that offered dance education, outreach programs and scholarship opportunities. She is the Dance Specialist for the South Lakes HS Dance Department, Dance Team Coach, Sponsor/Director of Fusion Dance Club and she also teaches Adapted Physical Education teacher. She encourages everyone to experience the arts through dance and to simply dance to the rhythm of your heart!
As always, pizza is available at the meeting for a $5 donation. Please contact Cathy Schroeder ahead of time to let her know you will be dining with us and what kinds of pizza you like.
July meeting heads-up:
We are arranging to have a hands-on demonstration of the ORACAM. This device fits on a pair of glasses and reads all kinds of print and recognizes faces, just by pointing your fingers. You will want to see the latest in adaptive technology for yourself. So, make plans now to join us in July so you can try the ORACAM for yourself.
