>From Kathryn Webster, President, National Association of Blind Students
We want to encourage our members including students to participate in the
2020 Washington Seminar. This year, we anticipate an especially strong set
of student programming to occur at Washington Seminar along with legislative
priorities that speak to students.
The deadline was just extended to December 15, even though the web site link
below still states 12/8.
The National Association of Blind Students (NABS) is supporting students in
attending the 2020 Washington Seminar. While the below link has more details
and the application form, here is what you should know. Please share info
and the below link with students throughout the Commonwealth.
2020 NABS Washington Seminar Funding Application
Using the below link, you can submit an application to be considered for
NABS financial assistance in attending the 2020 Washington Seminar, which
takes place from Monday, February 10 to Wednesday, February 12 in Washington
DC. The application deadline was just updated to Sunday, December 15, 2019.
In order to receive funding from the national student division, there are
specific requirements that must be met, so please review the below list to
ensure you are eligible and able to meet all mandatory elements.
Additionally, students will be assessed for financial need on a case by case
basis, with the understanding that students should seek-out alternative
funding sources, including chapter/affiliate support, personal contribution,
and community assistance. Please direct questions to Kenia Flores, NABS Vice
President, at kenia.flores at furman.edu <mailto:kenia.flores at furman.edu> . We
look forward to seeing you in our nation's capital to advocate for equality
for the blind.
