Hello NFB Family and Friends,


Just one week left before the start of our Virginia State Convention!  Boy
do we have an exciting agenda lined up.  If you haven’t registered yet,

This message outlines many events and meetings planned for the month.
Almost all chapter and division meetings are using the Virginia Affiliate’s
Zoom account and all meetings are open to the public.


All calls are available using the telephone dial in option or through the
free and totally accessible Zoom app on Windows, Apple IOS, or Google
Android. You can also access just using your Web Browser.   Click on the
zoom link to be automatically entered into the meeting.  The one tap mobile
does have a bit of a delay, approximately 20 seconds from start to you
being put into the meeting. You do not have to enter, push or do anything
except be patient and wait.   When using a landline or older cell phone,
you do have to type in the meeting ID, which is provided.  It’s that
simple, no stressing.


For all these services, it is important to be on mute when you are not
speaking.  The presenter will provide specific instructions at the
beginning of the meeting, but in general, star 6 mutes and unmutes from a
phone, ALT + A (like Alpha) mutes and unmutes on a computer and smartphones
and tablets have a mute button on the meeting control toolbar.
  Additionally, just like in-person Federation meetings, please preface
your comments by stating your name and being recognized by the organizer
before speaking.

*Virtual Fall Fun Night*

*Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00 PM*



On Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 7:00 p.m. EST  to 9:00 p.m., the
Greater Alexandria Chapter will be hosting our first ever Virtual Fall Fun
Night!  Featured will be "Trivia on the Zoom"!  Our logistics team, headed
up by our very own Aaron Simoneau, has been working hard to plan a night
filled with trivia competition like you have never experienced before!
 Players will be divided into teams and if your team is any good, there
will be PRIZES for the winning team!!  DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY FOR
FUN, LAUGHTER....AND TO SHOW THE REST OF US JUST HOW SMART YOU ARE!



To play, we are asking each participant to toss in $5 to the chapter
coffers. There are two ways to pay: 1) mail a check (made out to NFB
Alexandria Chapter) to: Renee Valdez, 3934 Woodhue Place, Alexandria, VA
22309, or 2) submit via PayPal to arielle71 at gmail.com.  UPON PAYMENT,
PLEASE SENT AN EMAIL SAYING YOU HAVE PAID TO: reneerome at yahoo.com. Once
your payment is registered, you will receive a link via email or text to
log into the Zoom event.  Deadline for us to receive payment:  Tuesday,
October 20, 2020 (Pay NOW!).



This event is by no means limited to Greater Alexandria Chapter members.
The more the merrier, so please post this on your social media accounts and
share with everyone!  Let’s get as many as we can into the fun.

Please join the Virginia Affiliate every Saturday evening from 7 to 9 pm
Eastern Time for good times. Each week will be a different theme.  Grab
your BFF’s and a drink alcoholic or non, settle in your favorite spot and
get ready to laugh, share stories, and have fun! The theme for this week,
October 24th, is Women in music…from Aretha  to Pink, let’s talk about
influential  women in music.
