Hey NFB  Family and Friends,

Join one of our Chapter Meetings over the next few weeks and have some fun
with our Holiday get togethers! Have a  great week!

Spotlight On.

Join us on our Affiliate Zoom every Tuesday night starting at 7  PM for
Braille Buddies. Bring your knowledge, your questions, your curiosity, it's
all about Braille. All levels of experience welcome!

Our At Large Chapter will be meeting on the Affiliate Zoom, instead of the
conference number, starting Monday, December 13th. This meeting will be
their Holiday Traditions Meeting. Please join President, Patrick Johnson and
the other chapter members as they chat. Please mark your calendars for the
2nd Monday of  each month and join the At Large Chapter.

The Winchester  Chapter will be doing a holiday cookie exchange in Lou of
our chapter meeting on December 18.

We will still meet at Sollenberger at the same time

Please mark your calendars for the last Ladies Night of 2021 on Saturday,
December 18th starting at 7  PM. Santa will arrive with a  sack full of
virtual gifts. Bring your favorite drink and munchie and join your Ladies
Night Girlfriends and see what you will win while having a  fantastic time
chatting and laughing!

 Hello NFB Family!

I guess you're wondering what the Greater Alexandria Chapter has in store
for this holiday season, right?  

WONDER NO MORE!  We will not disappoint!

The GAC HOLIDAY SHINDIG will be a jolly time filled singing and cheer and
lots and lots of frolicking (I'm still not sure what that involves,
really...)

We have a few guests who will share some important info with us, one of whom
is Ally Kelso, a student in Project RISE, who is doing some wonderful things
as part of her involvement with the Girl Scouts.  Ally has put together a
Mini Mentoring Program for young people to be mentored by high school
students who are blind.  This young woman is driven to truly share the
holiday spirit all year 'round, and that is why GAC is supporting her as
much as we can!  We hope you will too!

Now, let me draw a picture of the rest of the night's (so-called)
frolicking...

It will all begin with a profound holiday greeting from our esteemed GAC
President, Evelyn Valdez, affectionately known as Valdez number 1!  (Renee
Valdez is Valdez number 2.)

Then, the real frolicking begins with the musical razzle-dazzle funery
provided by Aaron Simoneau! I'll give you a hint...If you don't know
anything about holiday tunes, I suggest you study, like you crammed for your
senior year final exams!  Oh!  Did I mention there is a $15.00 gift card
prize involved?

Let the FUNERY and FROLICKING continue with a HOLIDAY COSTUME "SNOW BALL"
CONTEST!  That's right!  Pull out your favorite holiday costume-Jack Frost,
Grinch, Mrs. Santa (with fish net stockings), Medusa, the little dark elf!
Or, if you can't find any of those, your UGLY Holiday Sweater might be the
ticket!  Renee Valdez (Valdez #2) will be the emcee for this ALL BUT
GLAMOROUS event!  Participants will be judged on a scale of 1 to 10, by an
esteemed panel of judges.  Costumes will be judged on creativity, charm, and
calamity (I needed a C word!).  Did I mention...There is a $15.00 gift card
prize up for grabs!

And the jolly, jovial, joustingly (couldn't think of a J word!) holiday
funery will advance further into this crazed evening with Dionel Vazquez
hosting the hardly well-known holiday game, HURRY UP AND GO: HOW MUCH FOR
BLITZEN?  Hint:  There is no amount of cramming that will prepare you for
this skirmish, so, I recommend you bring your thinking caps, open mind, and
warped sense of humor and just dive right in!  And!  Did I mention there is
a $25.00 gift card prize involved in this one?

WOW!  Now doesn't this sound like a whole lot of frolicky, funery fun?  Here
are the logistics:

When:  Saturday, December 18, 2021, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where:  ZOOM, of course!  All who have RSVP'd and paid up by the deadline
will receive via email, the magical Holiday Shindig Key to the ZOOM Holiday
Shindig Room!
