Hi Virginia Federationists,

The purpose of the Saturday (8/26)  Membership Committee is to brainstorm
how we can improve our outreach to new members. While all are welcome to
attend this meeting, our focus is chapter presidents and membership chairs
from our various chapters and divisions. This meeting is intended for
brainstorming and problem solving to help grow our movement. We want your
ideas, suggestions, and input.

Agenda 

Saturday August 26, 3:00 PM-5:00 PM.

1.	Begin to develop a means for chapters to share names and additional
information about possible members. We all know or hear about blind persons
in the  state who are potential members. We need to share this information
with chapters where these  potential chapter  members live. One possible
answer is to have a central person who can redistribute information. 

2 A heads up. It is my understanding that a new data system for keeping
membership data is being developed. How can we be trained on it?

3 Centralize membership information to make sure members are on our list
serve and make sure everyone receives the Braille Monitor and other
publications.

4 How can we develop opportunities for members to recruit new members to our
chapters? 

5 A general discussion with your thoughts and ideas.
