Obituary
Woodrow "Woody" Berry, 79, of Charlottesville, passed away on Saturday March
11, 2023.
Woody was born on December 31,1943, in Wolftown, Madison Virginia to the
late Earlybird Berry and Polly Ann Berry. Woody was preceded in death a
brother, Mitchel "Mitch" Berry.
Woody was a faithful member of the Jefferson Park Baptist Church,
Charlottesville Virginia. He worked for the University of Virginia Radiology
Department for 37 years. Woody was united in holy matrimony to Carolyn Ruth
Wilson on June 6, 1970. With that union born a daughter, Delores Berry
Durrette and son, Scott Haywood Berry.
God lent us a very pure and special person who was loved by everyone. On
Saturday, March 11, 2023, we returned this beautiful life to him. We are
thankful for the privilege to having shared the life of such a beloved
person.
Woody was very active despite his blindness. He loved swimming in his pool,
riding his bike across Italy, kayaking the rivers around Charlottesville,
and most of all playing his guitars.
Cherishing great memories of his life, his devoted wife, Carolyn Ruth Berry,
daughter, Delores Berry Durrette, Son-in-law, Latroy "Tito" Durrette and
son, Scott Haywood Berry. He also leaves his beloved granddaughter, Kayla
Durrette, and a host of other relatives and many devoted friends.
Your beautiful life will forever remain bright in our memories.
