Hello Everyone,
I hope you all are enjoying the holidays. I wanted to pass along some
updates regarding Washington Seminar from the National Center.
First, the deadline for booking your hotel at the Holiday Inn Capitol at the
special rate of $194 per night (plus taxes and fees) is Tuesday, December 31
and rooms will not be available in the discounted block after 12/31. If you
are planning on coming, please also register for Washington Seminar at
http://archive.nfbv.org/washington. This is important so we know which days
you are available for appointments, so we have your contact info, etc.
To help everyone prepare for Washington Seminar, the National Center will be
conducting a series of four zoom training sessions. The schedule for these
trainings is:
Thursday, January 9, 8:00 p.m. Eastern - Issues Training
Monday, January 13, 8:00 p.m. Eastern - Mock Meeting #1
Thursday, January 23, 8:00 p.m. Eastern - Mock Meeting #2
The Zoom information will be distributed in the near future, but please put
these dates on your calendars.
As a reminder, our three issues for the 2025 Washington Seminar are the
Websites and Software Applications Accessibility Act, the Medical Device
Nonvisual Accessibility Act, and the Blind Americans Return to Work Act. The
fact sheets for all three of these bills will be available during the week
of January 6, 2025.
Finally, the full 2025 Washington Seminar agenda is now available on the
Washington Seminar page of the NFB website at nfb.org/Washington-seminar.
Please continue to check the Washington Seminar page for other important
updates.
