[NFBV-Announce] Settlement Achieved in legal action to protect the rights of blind and low vision prisoners in Virginia prisons

Hi Virginia Federationists,

 

I am pleased to share that the National Federation of the Blind of Virginia
along with 6 blind and low vision prisoners have successfully achieved
acceptable terms with the Virginia Department of corrections.

Details of the settlement and a press release will be finalized shortly. 

As a result, the trial scheduled for this coming week is cancelled and we do
not need members to attend court proceedings.

We hope to share more details  about this successful agreement in the coming
weeks.
