How's that for a subject line? Hey, made you open the message, didn't it?
Okay, listen up, because this is actually a serious message.
Convention hotels have started to engage in a frustrating practice of
releasing room inventory in bits and pieces. If you have attempted to make a
hotel reservation and have been told our block is sold out, send me an
email, and let me know. Do not call or text me, because I can't forward
those to my point of contact.
Here's where the insult piece comes into play. Please do not wait until the
day of the deadline, or worse, after the deadline, to reach out to me. There
is a gross misconception that I can work magic with my contacts. This is
only partially correct, but no matter how true it is, it is highly
inconsiderate of you to assume I can rearrange my schedule to help you out
when you have known of the deadline for over a month now. My time is
valuable too, and anyone waiting until the absolute last minute will meet a
cold reception. Not being anal, just keeping it straight with you.
The details for the toll-free number and online link are at:

Jump down to the Essential Details section.
If you made a reservation that did not match our group rate, please forward
me the reservation. I will do my absolute best to have it adjusted.
Whew! Okay, now that we've dispensed with the serious, here's a Halloween
joke: How does a mummy tell their kid it's time to go home? ..., ... Wrap it
up! Oh hush, you know you cracked a grin, at me, not with me, but it's
alright. I keep trying so hard to earn your love. Maybe one day!
Your humble servant,
Joe Orozco, Convention Operations
