[NFBV-Announce] NFBV State Convention-Friday Afternoon Tour-An Excursion with Adventure

Greetings everyone!

Do you get tired of sitting around all day at convention? Do you want the
chance to get out of the hotel for a couple of hours?  Well here is a tour
that will get you moving and out and about.  

We have put together a tour taking participants to the Nauticus Maritime
Discovery Center and the Battleship Wisconsin.  

Here are the details:

 

*	Everyone starts out from the main entrance of our hotel, gathering
at 1 PM, leaving at 1:10 PM.  
*	We start our excursion by boarding a ferry to Norfolk.  
*	Once everyone arrives in Norfolk, there is a short walk to Nauticus,
where everyone will have time to look at some of the exhibits
*	Everyone then will go over to the Wisconsin, where everyone can
participate in a 90 minute guided tour. In addition to getting on the main
deck, this tour includes the captain's quarters and where the crew navigated
the ship.  
*	Once our tour is completed everyone will return to our hotel via the
ferry.  Everyone should arrive at the hotel between 5-5:40 PM, in time to
get some dinner and prepare for all of the evening activities of our
convention.  (If anyone wishes to stay on the Norfolk side and visit
Waterside, where there are a number of restaurants and bars, they can stay
over and take a later ferry, as they run every half hour until 9:45 PM. 
*	  Cost: $47 per person-This includes you ferry ticket, admission to
Nauticus, and the guided tour of the Wisconsin.  
*	Please Note:  Every participant must be able to climb up and down
ladders as part of the tour.  We will be outside for short periods of time
so please dress for the weather.  
*	Reservation Deadline:  October 7, 2024.  We must have at least 15
people to participate.  At present, we have a number of people signed up,
but we need a few more.
