[NFBV-Announce] Member to Member, let's get to know each other, Lisa Kavitz

Hi NFB Family and Friends,

 

Welcome to this week's edition of member to member! We are still chatting
with the Greater Williamsburg Chapter and we are highlighting Lisa Kavitz
this week

 

Lisa is one of our original members, she joined our NFBV Family in 2003!
Lisa has worn several hats and has supported the chapter as a former Vice
President, she's on our Sunshine Committee, she's been to Richmond Seminar
MANY times and was awed by her first National Convention, this year in
NOLA!! Lisa lends a hand whenever one is needed. She's, almost every
meeting, the first one to arrive, greeting people with her beautiful smile
and welcoming words.

 

Lisa talks about the NFB where ever she goes and has been encouraging other
chapter members to do the same "we need to spread the word and give people
information about us. I'd love to see our chapter speaking with more
retirement communities and eye doctors, you know , tell everyone!"

 

Lisa was born in Florida and she has lived in Maryland, California, North
Carolina and Texas. Her favorite place was Texas, San Antonio and her least
favorite was Maryland "it was scary there, so much violence and drugs." She
graduated from the University of Texas, San Antonio where she achieved her
degree in Civil Engineering.  Lisa's family consists of her Mom and Dad, one
brother and one niece and nephew. 

 

Lisa loves to do yoga! She enjoys reading and she is most definitely a
travel bug! She's backpacked around the world and hopes to travel more in
the near future. Lisa's top three destinations are Japan, France and Greece,
"I want to immerse myself in the culture and live like a native." Yes, Lisa
is a travel bug and she has an adventurous side too, "I jumped out of a
perfectly good airplane, on purpose. My Dad did it when he was younger and I
wanted to follow in his footsteps." 

 

Lisa would be thrilled to be able to have a conversation and dinner with
Josh Ritter, a country singer. "I met him one night at a bar where I was
working. It would have been great to have been able to talk with him
longer."
