Hello NFB Family and Friends,

 

Join us on Thursday, February 26 for a special and engaging Access to the Arts informational Q&A session in partnership with the Kennedy Center!

 

We’re excited to welcome:

 

✨ Sara Kuba, Administrator from the Kennedy Center’s Office of Accessibility, who will share an overview of the Accessibility Office and the wide range of services available to patrons with disabilities.

 

🎧 Rita, professional audio describer, who will explain what audio description is, how it enhances live performances such as Hamilton, and the other venues where she brings the arts to life through description.

 

You’ll also experience a brief audio clip demonstration so you can hear what audio description sounds like during a live performance — especially helpful for members who are new to the experience.

 

📣 Whether you’re new to audio description or a longtime patron who has attended described performances at the Kennedy Center, this session will deepen your understanding of how performances are made accessible and what to expect moving forward.

 

With the Kennedy Center closing in July for approximately two years for construction, this is a timely opportunity to learn about accessibility services and where audio description will continue to be available during that period.
