Are you ready to make a difference and have an adventure? The LIFE Program
(Learning Independence, Feeling Empowered) is looking for passionate blind
mentors for Summer 2026! Who are ready to work hard, have fun, and inspire
teens. 

 

The LIFE Program is a four-week summer program for teens (ages 14-18) who
are blind or have low vision. Held at the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for
the Blind and Vision Impaired (VRCBVI) in Richmond, VA, LIFE is an excellent
opportunity for students to learn the skills of blindness, gain independence
and confidence through hands-on learning and exciting activities like white
water rafting, high ropes courses, and more.

 

As a mentor, you'll:

*	Be at the heart of the student's journey
*	Serve as a positive role model
*	Inspire blind and vision impaired teens to discover what's possible

 

What you'll get:

 

$20/hour

Room and board
