While participating this past Saturday in the virtual walk with the blind, members of the Tidewater chapter ran into Ms. Gina Gambony, morning host for WHRV, public radio for Eastern Virginia. She spent over an hour interviewing our chapter members. She also spoke with Deborah and me by phone the next day. She is producing a story talking about our activities for the station. The story may air this afternoon during their broadcast of All Things Considered, but will definitely air tomorrow morning during their broadcast of Morning Edition. She will let us know for sure I think later today. If you live in Eastern Virginia you can hear it over the air by tuning your radio in Norfolk to 89.5 FM WHRV, 88.5 FM WH RG Gloucester, 90.1 WHRX Nassawadox, 91.9 WHRE Cape Charles, and 88.1 WHRL Emporia. You can also listen to the program via the TuneIn app, or online at www.whrv.org. Ms. Gambony has looked at our website and appears to have a good understanding of what the NFB is all about. She also wishes to do a story about Deborah and Ilme, as she has put it, this is meet the blind month. This is definitely very positive reporting! I will keep you up-to-date as to when it airs and if anything is placed on the web as a result of the story.
