While votes were tallied, the meeting minutes from the August 7, 2021, board meeting were read by Jacob Ham and approved. Resolution 2021.1 was approved by the convention.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Deepa Goraya read resolution 2021.2, regarding the employment of people with disabilities by city and county governments. While votes were tallied, we heard some chapter and division reports, highlighting new initiatives across the state. Resolution 2021.2 was approved by the convention.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Sandy Halverson read resolution 2021.3, commending the Virginia Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired for 1 hundred years of service to blind Virginians. While votes were tallied, we heard further chapter and division reports. Resolution 2021.3 was approved by the convention.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Deepa Goraya read resolution 2021.4, on ordinances regulating dockless scooters. While votes were tallied, we heard other chapter and division reports. Resolution 2021.4 was approved by the convention.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Sandy Halverson read the final resolution, 2021.5, increasing funding of independent living services for Virginia’s blind seniors. While votes were tallied, we heard the last of the chapter and division reports. Resolution 2021.5 was approved by the convention.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Sean McMahon presented the audit committee report. The report was adopted.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Mark Roane delivered the treasurer’s report, stating the affiliate’s general checking balance as of September 30,2021, as $76388.01. The report was approved.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Sandy Halverson delivered the SUN report, highlighting that Virginia has held the number 1 position in contributions to the fund.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Christine Grassman delivered the PAC report.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Bonnie O’Day discussed Richmond seminar, outlining the issues of accessible educational technologies, employment by city and county governments, and an increase in funding for blind seniors in Virginia.
