President Wanda Taylor called the meeting to order at 6:55 PM at the Glory Days Grill in Fairfax, VA.

There were 12 people in attendance and we had a quorum.

Vice President Cathy Schroeder tried to play the NFB Presidential Release. She had accidently brought the prior month’s message. So, we moved onto the next item of the agenda.

President Wanda Taylor informed the chapter about the NFB Car Donation Program.

Potomac Chapter President Tyjuan Farmer spoke about the national auction.

VP Cathy Schroeder spoke about the social media effort to promote the NFB called Thunder Clap and how anyone on social media should participate.

Potomac President Tyjuan Farmer distributed car stickers promoting the car donation program.

We held new officer elections. The elected officers are:

Wanda Taylor President

Cathy Schroeder is Vice President

John Bailey is Secretary

Beverly Coney is Treasurer

Ashley Bramlett is a board member

Jessica Diaz is the second board member

President Wanda Taylor spoke about upcoming Washington Seminar and Richmond Seminar.

Several members offered rooms to those visiting from out-of-state for the Washington seminar.

President Wanda Taylor requested a report on the progress of the Fairfax NFB Website. Gia (one of the members of the committee) apologized for not participating because her computer is broken. John gave a report outlining that a rough draft for the webpage content exists and it only needs feedback from everyone else to finalize it.

For the March meeting, Rodney will develop a program.

For the February program, Cathy Schroeder will do a Newsline presentation.

It was decided that the chapter will have their December meeting at the regular time and date. However, it will be held at the home of Fred and Cathy Schroeder. It will be our annual holiday party. Members were encouraged to bring gifts that can be exchanged during the steal-the-gift activity.

Jessica, Wanda, and Cathy volunteered to be on the committee to plan the party.

Don pointed out an error in the prior month’s minutes. Rather than the chapter getting a proclamation from the County of Fairfax, we received the proclamation from the City of Fairfax.

The meeting adjourned at 8:37 PM.

Respectfully Submitted.

John Bailey

Secretary

Fairfax Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind
