The next meeting of the Fairfax Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind is scheduled for Thursday, May 15 at the home of Fred and Cathy Schroeder, 9522 Lagersfield Circle, Vienna, Virginia from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. We are going to do something fun and different. We are going to hold an old-fashioned box lunch social. Everyone wanting to participate should bring a box lunch, or dinner, to the meeting and then we will auction them off. The money raised will go to assist our chapter with the goals we have made for the upcoming year. The chapter wil provide beverages so there is no need for you to add that to your box unless the spirit really moves you.

You may ask, why would I want to buy a box lunch? Well, the answer is, hopefully the creator of the box you purchase put something in there that sparked your appetite. Let your imagination be your guide to what you choose to put in the box you bring. It could even spark your own appetite and cause you to bid on your own box.

Don't have time to put something fancy in your box? Well, stop by your favorite take-out place and choose something you think will be a hit.

A friendly reminder, make sure there is a box for everyone in your group. If a couple comes, you will want to bring two boxes so you can both eat.

To spice up the fun even more, we will have the following awards to encourage the creativity of our members:

The creator of the box receiving the highest bid
The creator of the box receiving the lowest bid
The creator of the box voted most creative by those present

Come one, come all, and let's make this a fun and productive evening.
