We have decided to change what we are
Going to eat at the picnic because of the hot weather. We are going to get Italian sandwiches. Nobody wanted to be hovering over a hot barbeque.

In order to plan on having a variety of side dishes and desserts, Joanne asked if you could let us know what you are bringing. You can send your information to me at

cathy at sks.com <mailto:cathy at sks.com>

Or you can call me on my cell at:

(703) 599-1960

And I will let Joanne know.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

Cathy Schroeder,
Vice President
National Federation of the Blind,
Fairfax Chapter

Subject: [Nfbv-fairfax] More Information about the NFB Fairfax Picnic, August 2
Hi Chapter members and friends,

This is a reminder about the upcoming picnic on Sunday, August 2. See the below information sent in an earlier post for details.

I know there has been a bit of confusion about what people should bring to share with fellow members and friends. Here are the details:

Please bring a dessert if your last name begins with A-M.
Please bring a side dish or snack if your last name begins with N-Z.

The chapter will be supplying the meats and all accompaniments, dinner ware and such, and drinks.

We will be passing a donation hat for contributions to help with this cost.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Please let me know if you have any questions or you need more information.

Subject: You are invited to the Fairfax Chapter's BBQ and lake swim!

Hello All,

On Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM, you are invited to join the Fairfax Chapter of the NFB at their annual summer party. The Fairfax Chapter has always known how to have a good time. But this year, we have outdone ourselves in summer entertainment.

We will be having a BBQ and lake swimming at the home of Joanne and Patrick who live at Lake Barcroft in Falls Church. We welcome old friends as well as new ones. And, don’t forget to bring your families. The more the merryer!

We ask that all those planning to attend RSVP Cathy Schroeder (Cathy at sks.com <mailto:Cathy at sks.com> ) no later than one week prior to the party. We want to make sure to have enough food and drink for everyone. Also, we will be requesting a contribution from those attending the party to help with the costs.

By the way, did I mention we will be having live music! Don’t miss it.
