Join us in person for the June meeting of the Fairfax chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Virginia.
We will be meeting this Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Matchbox Reston, 1900 Reston Metro Plaza, Suite 100, Reston. We have thoroughly enjoyed their food, their service, and their space at previous gatherings, and it was agreed at our last board meeting that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It was also agreed that we should improve our grammar. :)
What’s on the agenda other than hanging out with your awesome fellow chapter members?
Our featured speaker is our own Jeremy Grandstaff, discussing the frustrations and wisdom he gleaned from his recent job search
Finding a job, making your next career move, and just trying to move up. It can be overwhelming, frustrating, and feel like you are playing a lose-lose game. But, in fact, it is possible, and for Jeremy Grandstaff, his four year journey looking for that "right job" finally came to an end, when he accepted the VP of Communities with CurbCutOS. He'll share the story of his journey, the ups and downs, and most importantly what he learned along the way.
Jeremy is an energetic and dynamic speaker, and it will be a story you don't want to miss.
I hope our new members will be able to join us this Saturday. We will be skipping a July meeting because of the National Convention, and our August gathering will be a strictly social affair. In the past, we have patronized Rita’s Ices, but we would love to hear your ideas for an August get-together.
Would you prefer something more active? A seminar or discussion of some kind? An entertainment venue?
Whatever your ideas, we need them right away so that we can get everything set to send out information in plenty of time for as many of us to participate as possible.
Christine
