		I hope everyone had a wonderfully pleasant and filling Thanksgiving.
I certainly am thankful that someone let me know that there has been no receipt of chapter meeting minutes from our November 16, 2024, elections and 84th NFB birthday gathering at Matchbox Reston. 
See below for that information, as well as an invitation for local Federationists for a holiday party to be held on December 14 at the Lyon Village Community House.
(I will be thankful if this one goes through. I recognize that this request might get me a bunch of “Received,” acknowledgements, but please let me know if you get this, so that further delays in receipt of important information can be avoided and I can alert the web master powers that be if there continues to be an issue.)
 
On November 16, 2024, the Fairfax Chapter held its annual elections.

Christine thanked John Scroggs for his support and efforts as past Vice-President, thanked outgoing Secretary Jacob Hamm, and gave profuse and special thanks to Ameenah for her patience and determination as we worked to have our treasury transferred from one bank account to another. 
We went around the table and discussed either how we became acquainted with the NFB and/or how it has impacted our lives, and what we believed the future might look like in the next 84 years. 
Now, lest you think the partying is behind us, Federationists are invited to a Northern Virginia Chapters Holiday Party; see below:

The Northern Virginia Chapters of the NFBV, Greater Alexandria, Fairfax, and Potomac, are putting our heads and our hearts together this year to host a very special Holiday Celebration!  It promises to be an evening filled with laughter and song, great food and spirits!  And FUN!  Did I forget that part?

DATE:        Saturday, December 14, 2024
TIME:         5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
PLACE:      Lyon Village Community House
                  1920 North Highland Street
                   Arlington, VA
COST:        $30 per person
DINNER will be catered by Flavorz Cooking and Catering.  (This Caterer comes highly recommended for its exquisitely delicious food and its generous portion sizes! So, bring an appetite!)

You will have three entrée options to choose from and each entrée will include: garden salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner roll and strawberry shortcake.

The Entrée choices are:
a.      Peruvian Chicken Skewers
b.     Salmon with Habanero-Pineapple Sauce
c.      Eggplant Parmigiana
Your Holiday Hosts will provide a “Beverage Table” stocked with complimentary red wine, white wine, beer, and sodas.  If you would like a different beverage, please bring a bottle of your favorite to add to the beverage table.  It will be much appreciated!

Following our scrumptious dinner and a few holiday carols, open mic style (hint: practice your favorite holiday song to share!), we will host the ever-so-popular, oh-so-much-fun White Elephant Gift Exchange!  We hope everyone will participate by bringing one wrapped unisex gift with a price limit of $10.  All gifts will be collected at the door and added to the pile.  All who bring a gift will receive a random number.  Remember, this is a true gift “exchange”!  If, after opening your gift, you decide you like someone else’s gift better, you can exchange your gift for theirs!  HA, HA!

To RSVP for this Special Holiday Celebration, please complete the following important steps no later than Sunday, December 1, 2024:

1.     Send your payment of $30 per person via Zelle, to potomacnfb at gmail.com <mailto:potomacnfb at gmail.com>
     If you do not have Zelle, you can pay at the door with cash, or a check made out to       NFBV Potomac Chapter.
2.     Send an email to Renee Valdez, reneerome at yahoo.com <mailto:reneerome at yahoo.com>  and include the following:
        a.      The names of each person who will be attending the holiday celebration.
        b.     Specify the entrée choice for each person attending.
The NFBV Chapters of Northern Virginia, Greater Alexandria, Fairfax, and Potomac, are thrilled to host this very special Holiday Celebration!  We look forward to sharing this wonderful evening with all of you!

The next board meeting of the Fairfax chapter will be held on December 2 at 4:00 PM; all are welcome to hop in. A Zoom link will be sent before Monday at noon. Our next chapter meeting will be held on the affiliate Zoom on December 19, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The main purpose of this meeting will be to plan our New Year’s gathering in January and to discuss projects and activities for the coming year. 

I will send out an agenda and the affiliate Zoom information approximately a week before our chapter meeting.
