April Chapter Meeting and Spring Gathering at Matchbox Reston, April 19:
Several members of the Fairfax Chapter gathered at Matchbox Reston at 3:00 PM. 
After placing our orders, President Christine Grassman brought the meeting to order at approximately 3:20 PM. 
We discussed continuing frustrations with securing the funds from our past chapter account, and discussed going forward with resolutions for  securing them at the previous board meeting and chapter meeting. 
Members also discussed the merits of exploring other locations for our in-person gatherings. Due to the transportation difficulties for many in Fairfax, and the expense and time expended by some of our regularly attending members, several options were discussed. 
We also discussed various topics for future chapters and activities and possible technology workshops. 
We discussed our intentions to work closely with our fellow local chapters, particularly Loudoun, with respect to our transportation campaign. Success in one local area can provide a springboard for other areas in our affiliate and beyond.
It is crucial to have representation at local transportation meetings.
If you are interested in assisting with attendance at these meetings and providing feedback at them, and reporting back to the chapter, it would be very much appreciated. 
Our next chapter meeting will take place on the fourth, rather than the third, Thursday in May (May 22), to accommodate a briefing from the May 17th affiliate board meeting and an exciting discussion regarding several blind and low vision individuals attending a firearms class at Trouble Defense Services. 
Our chapter meeting/spring gathering ended at approximately 5:00 PM.
