about how good our March meeting was. I also saw two or three Facebook posts
about it.</FONT></FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"></FONT></FONT> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">We tried something a bit
differently at this meeting. We often have programs about technology and
accessibility. However, this time, we were able to invite the entire state to
join us because our presenter, Chris O’Meally, told us all we needed to know
about purchasing our next computer via conference call. We had eight people join
us on the call from five other chapters across the state.</FONT></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"></FONT></FONT> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">Chris reviewed which of the
operating systems for computers had the advantages we were looking for. He gave
recommendations as to which computer we should buy and which would meet our
needs today and tomorrow. Finally, Chris talked about the different smart phone
platforms and gave us his opinions as to which would best meet our
needs.</FONT></FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"></FONT></FONT> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">Since this is our first
time inviting the entire state to our chapter meeting, there were a few
glitches. Fortunately, chapter Vice President and technical guru Cathy Schroeder
was able to resolve them quickly. Tip: if having a long conference call via
mobile phone, make sure to have the phone charging during the call so you don’t
run out of juice.</FONT></FONT></P>

great big ‘Welcome’ to our four new members who joined us in March. Several of
them had not been aware of our chapter prior to the indoor rock climbing class
the Fairfax Chapter organized a few weeks ago.</FONT></FONT></P>

face="Times New Roman"><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"></FONT></FONT> </P>

the third Thursday of April. Chief Chapter Economics Correspondent Joy Relton
will be our presenter. Do you like shopping? Do you hate it? In any case, you
will want to join us for our April meeting where Joy will tell us about several
methods to take the stress out of shopping. I had no idea there were so many
options available for keeping the refrigerator filled.</FONT></FONT></P>
