This is a long email which I would be extremely appreciative if everyone
would please find time to read because it contains a lot of information.
First, this month's meeting date is earlier than usual because of
Thanksgiving. We wanted to avoid the Saturdays immediately before and after
Thanksgiving. Therefore, this month's meeting date is Saturday, September
14, and there will be food!
The meeting will begin at 10:00, as it has been doing since August. This
month, however, our location is different. We will return to the Disability
Resource Center at 409 Progress Street. This is because of the food.
Cleaning up is always much easier with the benefit of a kitchen.

Our regular meeting room and the kitchen have been reserved for us until
2:00. It does not mean the meeting will last that long. Instead, it means,
hopefully, we will not be rushed to complete our activity.

Our featured activity is a Pampered Chef party which has two purposes.
First, it is an early opportunity for us to do some holiday shopping for
cooking kitchen items. Shopping from a catalog would not permit us to
examine or try any of the products. I asked Sandy Clark, our Pampered Chef
representative, to bring as wide as possible a variety of items. We have
the kitchen because this party will also be a cooking demonstration. Anyone
who wishes can actually try the products and participate in the food
preparation. Sandy is bringing all the food as her personal contribution to
our chapter. She has been my personal friend and my small business
acquaintance at least five years. Sandy invited us to tell her if there are
any kitchen tasks we would like to do, but find difficult. Quite possibly,
she will have a kitchen tool which would make that task easier, and more
fun. I was involved in a much smaller party with her in September. Several
of us really liked the hamburger chopper. It especially helps break up
hamburger to cook in a pan. We also really liked the can opener.

Sandy will bring catalogs for anyone who wants them. The regular catalog is
also on the Pampered Chef web site. In addition, Sandy set me a list of
holiday specials. I did not include that with this email because not
everyone wants to receive attachments. Please ask me if you want me to send
you this list in advance of the party. I think Sandy will bring most of the
products on that relatively small list.

Sandy is making us a southwestern chicken salad. Two months ago, when we
all helped her with the preparation, it was really good! Depending on the
weather, and what my soup lady brings me this week, I might bring some to go
with the salad. Sandy has asked me to make certain there is something to
drink. It would be extremely helpful if people who are coming would please
let me know. Tils will help tremendously with planning purposes so there is
enough to eat for everyone. This is an announce only list, so please respond
to my own email address, hollisfrisch at verizon.net. You are also welcome to
call me with your response at 540 899 7747. Even if I am not home, that
number has better voicemail service than the one at my office. Everyone is
entirely welcome and cordially invited.
