HISTORIC FREDERICKSBURG CRIER – February 8th 2021

This Crier isgoing out to share a survey requested of chapter presidents. I will include thecontent of that e-mail at the bottom of my short thoughts on the current stateof localand national  affairs.

We are just aboutfinishing one year of time since the virus struck our country. There has beenmuch finger-pointing about fault and reaction to the pandemic. Some blame thePresident who was vilified when he first raised the alarm while others inWashington said the virus was no big deal. If you want to lay blame, feel freebut I think we all need to pull together and help those hurt by the pandemic.

I am not a bigfan of Zoom even though I like technology. As the president of our chapterduring this bad year, I feel that I have failed all of you. Our meetings via Zoomhave been overall lackluster and not well attended or probably very useful tomost of you. Based on the survey sent out by the affiliate, other chaptersprobably had similar problems.

Sue and I aregetting our shots this week and I hope all of you can get yours as soon aspossible. I would like to try to meet in a masked and socially distancedsetting at our regularly scheduled meeting  Saturday morning, February 20. Meeting detailswill be sent out Thursday, February 18. If that is too soon for many of you, Iunderstand. Maybe you will be more comfortable in March.

Please be safe

Below are the questionsfrom the affiliate. Please send me or them your responsas.  You can also bring responses to our Saturdaymeeting.

You may ask yourchapters whatever questions you like, but the responses I believe should go onour data collection should be

1. What are thepositives of your chapter in its current state?

2. What didyour membership identify as areas for improvement?

3. What lessondid the chapter learn from 2020?

That’s it. Ifanyone would like to reword, delete, or add other questions, I’m open tosuggestions. I’m hoping we can collect ample responses to give us a fair ideaof where chapters are in their current state. If you have suggestions though, please share them here by this Sunday evening. I’d like to work with Sean oncreating the form next week so that chapters can begin registering theirresponses throughout the month. You may delegate the completion of the form to someoneelse in your chapter if you so desire, as long as it gets done by March 1st at5 PM.

If anyone hasany questions whatsoever, or concerns, please ask them here or contact eithermyself or Domonique. Don’t wait until the deadline please.

Thanks,

Joe
