Subject: [Nfbnet-members-list] Please VOTE before December 24! KNFB Reader up for an AppleVis Golden Apple Award
Greetings Fellow Federationists,
We have been provided with a unique opportunity
to see a product developed by the blind for the
blind win a Golden Apple Award from AppleVis.
KNFB Reader has been nominated for a Golden Apple
Award under Best Assistive App for 2015. Here is
the description for KNFB Reader’s entry:
KNFBReader
KNFBReader converts printed text into high
quality speech to provide accurate, fast, and
efficient access to both single and multiple page
documents with the tap of a button on the iPhone.
Picture accuracy is facilitated by a Field of
View Report, Automatic Page Detection, and Tilt
Control. When used with a document stand, the app
will automatically detect when you turn the page
of a book in the stand or insert a different sheet.
Read KNFBReader's AppleVis iOS App Directory entry for more information.
Voting will close at 23:59 PDT on December 24,
2015 and is open to all registered users of the
AppleVis website; if you are not already
registered and would like to vote, you can create
an account now. The voting form can be found here
http://www.applevis.com/blog/advocacy-applevis-assistive-technology-ios-apps-mac-apps-news/cast-your-votes-now-applevis
(note that you will need to be logged in to see
the voting form at the end of that post).
Thanks for your consideration and don’t forget to vote by Christmas Eve!
Your KNFB Reader Team
