The Baltimore Oriols baseball team wore Braille jerseys at their game and President Riccabono threw out the first pitch.Other highlights included the lawsuit against Source America for the contracts that the federal government gives to entities such as National Industries for the Blind, etc.

Trivia/Philosophy
Kathryn coordinated trivia questions as we divided into two teams and Sarah and Kiki read off trivia questions, this was so engaging...Team 2 was the winner!
Kathryn led our philosophy discussion by making statements like blind people getting reduced fare; if you would allow a blind hairdresser to do your hair; if blind people should pre-board and whether we agree or disagree.
Project RISE
Our Project RISE students will be attending the state convention in Fredericksburg and will be paired up with their mentors in the rooms. We will be having some students arrive on that Thursday evening, Nov. 8th and the rest of the students will be arriving on that Friday afternoon, Nov. 9th in time for the student programming. There will be student programming throughout the weekend.

State Convention
The 60th NFBV state convention will be taking place Thurs, Nov. 8-Sunday, Nov. 11th at the Fredericksburg Hospitality House in Fredericksburg. Many conventioneers will be taking the VRE or Amtrak down to Fredericksburg. If transportation is an issue, please notify Sarah Patnaude.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone and making memories in Fredericksburg!

Announcements
Sandy announced that she has tickets for the Neseum and if anyone is interested in going on a Saturday, just let her know.
Sarah Blumberg would like a sign-up sheet for individuals to take on the responsibility to bring in snacks for each chapter meeting.
Sarah Blumberg would like to have our chapter Christmas party at Bonefish Grill in Arlington.
Sean will be getting the membership committee together for a conference call since Sarah Patnaude made lots of calls to see if members were still active from our membership roster and White Cane list.
President John Halverson would like to have chapter board meetings on the last Monday of the month.
Charlie Brown is doing really well and him and Jacki will be attending the picnic.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves at the state convention!

Yours in the Federation
