I am a blind woman who is a mother, wife, attorney, federal employee, and a certified teacher who worked with at-risk youth for fifteen years. I have both personally experienced and repeatedly witnessed the inequitable playing field marginalized individuals face when they do not have access to the same technology and information as others.</div><div class="">I dedicate a significant amount of my time deeply involved in advocacy efforts, including requesting that my representatives support and pass legislation that will enable all citizens to pursue the educational, vocational, and personal goals they wish, without unnecessary obstacles being placed in their way.</div><div class="">I have two adult blind children, and my husband is legally blind. I know thousands of blind people who are deeply concerned that the ATAA provision of the Build Back Better Act is not in the bill currently under consideration. </div><div class=""><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 18.7px; line-height: normal;" class=""><span style="font-kerning: none" class="">I respectfully urge Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer to restore the Access Technology Affordability Act (H.R. 431/S. 212) into the Build Back Better Act (H.R. 5376).
