The Office ensures accessibility of public transportation including all Metro facilities and Metro-owned bus stops, vertical transportation, fixed-route transit, and equipment for people with disabilities. The Office also works for the continuous improvement of all of Metro’s accessible services and facilities. Providing safe and independent use of Metro’s accessible fixed-route services helps ensure that paratransit services are conserved for those individuals who truly need them. </span></p>

She has taught college level design courses and written numerous articles about accessible design. She co-authored the popular book Accessible Home Design, and as the National Architecture Director for the Paralyzed Veterans of America, worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs to update their Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders Center Design Guide</span></p>

They are the only provider of its kind and the largest blind-owned healthcare company in the United States. We will be joined by one of the co-founders of the company, Andy Burstein. Andy is a renowned advocate for accessibility in healthcare. In addition to leading Accessible Pharmacy Services, he advises universities, healthcare systems and a team within the World Health Organization on issues related to disabilities and accessibility. He has two sons and he lives in Philadelphia. </span></p>
