Subject: technology for locating nearest bus stop; article
I wonder if this interesting technology will be made accessible to blind
users.
How might it work do you think? GPS, Trekker, cell phone?

Need a bus? Six nearest stops available on iPhone
The Province

Finding the nearest bus stop has gone high-tech.
iPhone users can now find the nearest bus stop and link up to Google Maps to
see where the nearest six stops are located in Metro Vancouver.
A free application for iPhones is available at Apple's App Store, the
company's online store where the software can be downloaded.
The application may also be made available for other web-enabled devices,
such as Blackberry.
Commuters could already use their cellphones to text message their bus
stop's number to Next Bus at 3333 and get the scheduled arrival times of the
next six buses.
Since that service began in December 2007, there have been three million
requests.
