Kay,

If I get calls like this, I always ask them to send me info and a return
address or envelope. After receiving the info, if it arrives, then I can
decide if it is legit.

Subject: [nfbwatlk] strange phone call

I know this isn't blindness-related, but I think people ought to be warned.
I got a strange call from someone who said he was from the American Cancer
Society, thanking me for my contribution last year. I didn't give them any
money last year or any other year. He asked me if I wanted to contribute
again this year and I said no and he hung up without even saying goodbye.
And the number was a private number. I think someone tried to do something
that didn't work.

Kaye
