Good morning everyone:

The following is action we need all of you to take concerning our Talking Book and Braille Library.

Over the past 24 hours it has come to our attention that in the House budget

that came out on Tuesday, the Secretary of State's Office took an $11 million budget cut in state funds, which amounts to about 30% to 40% of their total budget. This cut to their budget could have the potential of severely impacting the Washington State Library and the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library.

Please take a little time today to call the legislative hotline at (800) 562-6000 and leave a message for your Senator and Representatives to please restore funding to the Secretary of State's Office to ensure that library services are preserved, to include the services of the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library.

Continue to watch the WCB list and our 800 line for budget updates impacting

DSB and the Washington state School for the Blind.

Denise
