HB 1739 Promoting Accessible Communities: Provides support for county or multi-county Accessible Community Advisory Committees and for locally developed projects to improve awareness on disability issues and acceptance, and access for people who have disabilities.
* Improves our communities and the lives of people with disabilities without impacting the state budget. (Funded by increasing disability parking fines from $250 to $450.)
* Supports volunteerism and community involvement among people with disabilities.
* Improves emergency preparedness planning for people with disabilities.
* Participation by counties is voluntary.
