Snohomish County, Wash. - Community Transit's Citizens Advisory Committee will hear a report Jan. 21 about the agency's plans to build a park & ride lot at the corner of Cedar Avenue and Grove Street in Marysville. The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Tulalip Boys and Girls Club, 707 36th Ave. NW in Tulalip. That location is accessible by Community Transit Route 222.

Community Transit is reviewing final construction plans and will put the project up for bid in early spring. The agency plans to break ground in June and to complete the project late this year.

Community Transit purchased the two-acre property in 2007. Plans call for about 210 parking stalls, along with 10 motorcycle stalls. The new park & ride, which will supplement others Community Transit already operates in Marysville, will have shelters, lighting and other security features.

Current service to the Cedar and Grove area includes Route 207, serving Boeing-Everett; Route 421, serving downtown Seattle; and Route 821, serving the University District. Routes 200, 201, 202, 221 and 222 operate nearby.
