Going Totally Mobile
Join K-NFB Reading Technology, Inc. for an informative, one-hour
presentation on the KNFB Reader Mobile. Blind or visually impaired children
and adults can now read on the go.
The knfb Reader Mobile is a major advancement in print access for the blind
and for persons who have difficulty reading print for any reason. The
software which runs on a multifunction cell phone, allows the user to snap
pictures of any printed material and have it read aloud immediately.
The first of its kind, the pocket-sized Mobile Reader allows individuals to
have print analyzed and read aloud in real time and in real life situations.
Read menus and class handouts, identify bottles or coffee in a hotel room,
sort currency, make a phone call, or send a text message, all with a single
device.
In addition, text can be recognized and read aloud in a variety of languages
including:
French, German, Dutch, Belgian Dutch, Italian, and Castilian. Translation
from one language to another is also available.
James Gashel, vice president of Business Development at KNFB Reading
Technology, will provide an introduction and training for this easy-to-use
device on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 3:00 p. m. Eastern Daylight time.
Where? On your computer. That's right, all you need is your computer and a
connection to the Internet!
Shortly before 3:00 p. m., join us in our totally accessible discussion
