Ride the Wave to Sunday's Mariners game
Mariners fans, just a reminder that this Sunday, Oct. 4, is your last chance
this season to take Sounder to the game. Trains leave from Tacoma at 11 a.m.
(stopping in Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent and Tukwila) and from Everett at
11:15 a.m. (stopping in Mukilteo and Edmonds). Return trains leave King
Street Station 35 minutes after the last out.
Link light rail and ST Express also offer service to the stadium district.

You're invited: Capitol Hill Station open house
You're invited to come learn about the construction schedule for Link light
rail station at Capitol Hill. We'll meet next Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 8
p.m. in Room 1110 at Seattle Central Community College, 1701 E. Broadway.
(Use entrance near the Broadway Performance Hall.) A presentation will
begin at 6:30 p.m. You'll hear about night-time construction, noise
variance, business mitigation and more, and you'll have a chance to ask
questions. Hope you can make it!

will allow the tunnel boring machine to work beneath the freeway as light
rail construction proceeds.
Mark your calendar: East Link workshops
If you live or work on the Eastside, you might want to attend an upcoming
workshop to learn about the preferred route and stations, tell us about your
community and how Link can best serve you, and help inform preliminary
engineering. The workshops will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m., with a
presentation at 5:30.

House Transportation Committee briefing
I was invited to Olympia yesterday to brief the House Transportation
Committee. The lawmakers asked to hear about Link light rail costs,
construction, operations and ridership numbers; planning and construction
for new projects, including University Link; and technical information about
Beacon Hill tunnel boring lessons learned. The committee asked good
questions and I am pleased that Sound Transit has a positive working
relationship with the state.
Sound Transit Finance Committee yesterday:
* Authorized a five-year contract with Paladino & Company, Inc., to
provide environmental and sustainability management services on an as-needed
basis in the amount of $500,000, for a total authorized contract amount not
to exceed $500,000;
* Authorized a one-year contract with four additional one-year options
with Restoration Logistics, LLC, to provide landscape maintenance services
for Link, ST Express and Sounder wetland and stream mitigation projects in
an amount not to exceed $1,536,595;
* Authorized a contract amendment with INCA Engineers, Inc., to
provide final design services for the Puyallup Parking Expansion project, in
the amount of $305,497, with a 10 percent contingency of $30,550, totaling
