Subject: Transit Advocates for Dow Constantine - We Need Your Help!
Dear transit supporters,
We know that you are a strong supporter of transit and say YES at every
opportunity to support transit at the ballot. Sometimes, the opportunity to
say YES to transit comes in the form of voting for a strong transportation
leader. This November, you will have an opportunity to do just that with a
vote for Dow Constantine for County Executive.
The King County Executive runs King County Metro, the foot ferry system, and
appoints 10 of Sound Transit's 18 Board of Directors. They play a critical
role in defining our transit future, and our region simply cannot afford
four years of an Executive who at best, displays tepid support of transit
and at worst, is unsupportive of transit expansion. That's why we need to
do everything we can to elect the only King County Executive who is a
champion for transit - Dow Constantine.
Both as a legislator and now as our County Council Chair, Dow has
aggressively supported expanding our bus and rail service. He stuck by
Sound Transit as they worked through their financial troubles and worked
tirelessly to pass Mass Transit Now last year.
The race for King County Executive is far too close for us to sit back and
watch it pass us by. The last poll showed the campaigns virtually neck and
neck. Now is the time to take action.
We know that we can count on Dow. Can we count on you?
Please join us for a night to contact undecided voters throughout the County
on behalf of Dow Constantine. Pizza and beverages will be on hand. Please
click here <mailto:aprilputney at gmail.com> to let us know if you're able to
make it so that we have enough food and phone lines available.
