Seahawks Continue at Home Against Carolina

Seattle plays the second of two consecutive home games this Sunday as the Carolina Panthers head to Seattle in the regular season for the first time since 2004. The game is slated to kick off at 1:15 p.m. (PT) and will be televised on FOX (channel 13 in Seattle) and broadcast on 97.3 FM and 710 ESPN Radio in Seattle.

This will only be the fourth meeting between the two franchises since Carolina entered the league in 1995. The Panthers took the first matchup, 26- 3, on October 8, 2000, and Seattle won at Qwest Field, 23-17, on Halloween in 2004.

The last time the two met, Carolina snapped Seattle's five-game winning streak with a 13-10 victory on December 16, 2007, on a gusty day in Charlotte.

The teams faced off once in the postseason, with Seattle defeating Carolina, 34-14, in the 2005 NFC Championship Game to advance to Super Bowl XL.

Seattle currently is tied with St. Louis with a 5-6 record in the NFC West, but is in second place by virtue of the tie-break. The two close the season on January 2, 2011, in Seattle. San Francisco is a game back at 4-7, with Arizona holding a 3-8 record.

Matt Hasselbeck is just two wins shy of tying Dave Krieg as Seattle's alltime winningest quarterback. Krieg won 70 games from 1981-90.

Due to visiting team ticket returns, a limited number of tickets are available for Sunday's game.
