Seahawks Open 35th Season with Bing Training Camp

NFL conditioning tests have been in the news quite a bit lately. What
exactly does that test consist of?

Every team does it differently, but the Seahawks will hold a short
fitness exam at 3 p.m. today that will be composed of 20 reps of 40-,
50- or 60-yard

dashes, depending on position, with short recovery times. Skill players
will run the longer distance, linebackers and tight ends will run the
50-yard sprints

and linemen will be commissioned to the 40-yard dashes.

The players will have 30-second breaks between each sprint, and then a
three-minute break at the halfway mark of the 20-rep slate that head
strength and

conditioning coach Chris Carlisle said is not intended to break the
players but instead simply learn what level of conditioning they're
coming from at

the start of camp.

"Everything counts, so here's our first chance to see them at work,"
Coach Pete Carroll said about this afternoon's test.

Conditioning is followed by a team meeting, dinner, special teams
meeting, offense/defense meetings and off to bed at 11pm. The first
practice is tomorrow

at 9am!
