Seahawks Take on Defending Champs on Sunday
[cid:image001.jpg at 01CB87C0.397F0F50]Coming off a season sweep of the defending NFC West Champion Arizona Cardinals last week, Seattle heads to the Gulf Coast to take on Super Bowl XLIV Champion New Orleans. The game is slated to kick off at 1:05 p.m. (PT) and will be televised on FOX (channel 13 in Seattle) and broadcast on 97.3 FM and 710 ESPN Radio in Seattle. Calling the game on FOX will be Thom Brennaman and Brian Billick for the second consecutive week, and Billick's fourth time this season. The game will also be broadcast nationally on Sports USA Radio Network, with Tom McCarthy, John Robinson and Tony Graziani.
This will be the 11th meeting between the two teams with the series tied at five games apiece. Seattle enjoyed a three-game series winning streak from 2000-04, but dropped the most recent meeting, 28-17, on October 14, 2007, in Seattle. In that game, Seattle could not overcome a 21-0 early deficit, while Matt Hasselbeck threw for the fourth-highest total of his career with 362 yards and two touchdowns.
Prior to Seattle's run, New Orleans took three straight in the series from 1988-97 after dropping two of the first three series meetings to Seattle.
Hasselbeck is two wins away from tying Dave Krieg as Seattle's all-time winningest quarterback. Krieg won 70 games from 1981-91.
