Good afternoon -

This is my first time on this list serve, actually, my first time on any
list serve, so please bear with me.

First - Am I doing this correctly by simply clicking reply and putting in my
comment/question?

If not, where do I go?

Second - If yes, my question is below:

I am in Olympia, and just heard about the conference 2 days ago. I went to
the website yesterday, and am interested in going, even if all I can get
into at this late date are the exhibits. Is there a transportation option
from Olympia, that I might still be able to look into?

A Devastating Loss
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague,
friend, mentor and esteemed professor Paul Steven Miller. He was surrounded
by the love of his family and close friends.

In honor of Paul, Dean Kellye Y. Testy and UW Law announced the dedication
of this year to Professor Miller. ?This year and beyond, we will celebrate
his life by infusing his dedication to public service and to equal justice
in all we do. We will miss our dear friend and colleague more than we can
say.?

Interim UW President Phyllis Wise remembers Paul:
"I first met Paul Miller when I interviewed for the Provost's position. I
realized how much he cared about the UW. Then I got to know him better when
he served on the Obama transition team, and I realized how much he cared
about the country. More recently I got to know about his wife and children.
I realized how much he loved his family, and I learned about his passion for
life. We have lost a man of wisdom, integrity, devotion, and compassion. I
feel so privileged to have known him and counted him as a friend and
colleague."

Funeral services will be held at Temple De Hirsch Sinai. 1441 16th Street,
Seattle, on Wednesday, October 20, at 5 pm. Other memorial services are
being planned for Seattle and Washington, D.C.

Mexican food where we stay for the winter. We are nine miles from the
Mexican border. I have eaten food in Mexico and have to admit that I don't
really like the meat. It has a very different taste than what I'm used to.
So then it comes down to what does it mean to be authentic? One of the best
Mexican restaurants in Vancouver, in my opinion is Mexico Lindo, in Garrison
Square. It's not close to the hotel dough, so if people wanted to go there
they'd probably need to take the bus or a cab. Peace, Debby

Mike,
The voice mail that was left for me, indicated she was an Olympia resident.
Today I found out that she is a student at the OTC with DSB. After
discussing it with Mike he was aware of her and had been working on
arrangements for her.

Layout of streets around convention hotel.
I hope this helps in understanding where the restaurants are in relation to
the hotel. Maybeth if you want to add to this or correct anything, please do
so.

The front door of the hotel faces North. When you walk out this main door
you are faceing 6th Street. In Vancouver, streets run East and West and
named streets run North and South.
After walking out the main door of the hotel, if you turn right you are
walking towards Columbia.
At the corner of 6thand Columbia, if you turn left (North) and cross 6th you
are walking North towards 8th Street with Columbia on your right. On this
side of Columbia you will not cross 7th Street. It goes from 6th Street to
8th Street. To the East of Columbia 1 block is Washington and 1 block East
of Washington is Main.
When you get to and cross 8th Street and turn left and walk with 8th on your
left, you are walking West and the first street you come to will be
Daniels, continueing on the same direction the next street you come to will
be Ester.
It's obvious that when you leave the hotel and get to 6th and Columbia and
turn right you will be heading towards 5th Street. That is the direction
toards Joe's Crab and the Mexican place.

New ?place at 108 W. 8th St., it is called O'shansky's. It's near 8th &
Washington, a couple of blocks from the hotel.

Hi Mike,

Tried to send this, like a week ago and it didn't go through. ?I just tried
again.

But, I thought I would send it to you just in case it didn't go through,
that you might be able to post it.

The list has restaurants, then pizza places that delivers.

Thanks for your help.
