Seahawks Host NFC West Champion 49ers Looking to Keep Playoff Hopes Alive

[cid:image001.jpg at 01CCC147.F4408690]Winners of five of their last six, the Seahawks look to keep postseason hopes alive with two games remaining. This week's test presents the NFC West champion San Francisco 49ers at CenturyLink Field. Kickoff is slated for 1:15 p.m. (PT).

The game will be televised on FOX (channel 13 in Seattle) and broadcast on 710 ESPN Radio and 97.3 FM in Seattle. On FOX, Ron Pitts will serve as the play-by-play man, joined in the booth by Charles Davis, with Drea Avent on the sidelines. On 710 ESPN Radio and 97.3 FM is former Seahawks receiver Steve Raible in his 30th year of broadcasting, joined by Hall of Famer Warren Moon, with Jen Mueller handling sideline duties. The game will also be broadcast nationally on SportsUSA Radio with Larry Kahn and John Robinson.

This week's game against the 49ers will mark the 26th time the two clubs have squared off in the regular season, with Seattle holding a 13-12 series edge. Seattle has won 11 of the last 17, and five of the last nine meetings.

This is a rematch of the season opener played on September 11. In that game, the 49ers used two fourth-quarter special teams plays by Ted Ginn, Jr. to put the game out of reach for Seattle. Having climbed to within a 19-17 margin following a Doug Baldwin 55-yard touchdown reception with just under four minutes remaining, Ginn returned the ensuing kickoff 102 yards for a score. He later returned a punt 55 yards for a score and led the 49ers to a 33-17 win.
