Accessible World And Books And Beyond Present Greg Kearney Discussing the
Library Of Western Australia, Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Newswire:

Greg Kearney is making available even more books to us here in the States
through his job at the Association of Western Australia. Without a doubt,
more books and sources for obtaining them are available than ever before.
How nice it is to have so much from which to choose.

Born in the United States, Greg
is currently the Manager for accessible media at the Association
for the Blind of Western Australia in Perth where he directs
the transition of a tape library to DAISY digital talking book format.
Through his fine effort, we can now read books by Australian authors
previously unavailable. If you have ever wished to broaden your knowledge
geographically or wanted to read more from authors in other countries, you
can now do that by establishing a connection with the fine library for which
Greg works. How did this opportunity come about? What took him to Australia
and what is his life like there? How does someone get access to all the
great books this library is so graciously offering? What types of books are
most popular? How many books are produced digitally each year? Will we
someday have access to libraries from which books may be downloaded from
other countries in addition to the Association Of Western Australia? To
lovers of books and authors, this would be a dream come true. What legal
rights must be considered when making books availab le to readers in other
countries? What American authors are most popular in Australia? Many great
advances start with a person who had a very creative and original idea. I
applaud the fine work of this library and Greg's diligent work in
acquainting us with this new source from which we can find more books and
authors to love. As has often been said by those who love them, "There are
never enough books." Did you ever think you would live to have so much to
choose from that your biggest dilemma would be having enough time to read
all you would like to. We truly live in an exciting time. If you are
already receiving books from the Association of Western Australia or want to
know more about how you too can take advantage of this opportunity or
love talking about libraries and books, this is a show you won't want to
miss. Below is information about Greg. Information about how to attend this
fanta stic Books And Beyond can be found immediately below. .
