Hi.
Welcome to our list. We are speaking of the NFB national convention in
Orlando, Florida. It is *never* too late to attend a NFB national convention
although you may have quite a time finding a room -- the convention hotel
and the first alternate hotel in Orlando are filled. There may be a few
rooms at the second alternate hotel.
Look on the NFB website which is <http://www.nfb.org> and you'll find a link
to a convention page with more information. Alternatively, you may look
under the "Publications" link for the Braille Monitor page where the May and
June issues will have plenty of information about the convention, the
facilities and all the exciting events that will occur.
Our NFB of Washington convention will take place October 20-22 at the Hilton
Hotel in Downtown Vancouver. I'll announce how to reserve rooms etc. shortly
after I return from Orlando on July 9.
If there is other information you wish, please ask. I'm sure many list
members will sing the praises of the national convention.
Cordially,
Mike Freeman, president
NFB of Washington

Mike I just joined NFB list. I live in Tacoma. Is it too late to attend
the NFB convention?

NFB lest 1 period CONVENTION AGENDA and OTHER CONVENTION MATTERS
Greetings, all.
I understand that some have had difficulty reading the agenda for the 2011
NFB national convention from the NFB website. I'm therefore attaching a .tx)
version of the agenda for your edification.
Remember also that the NFB of Washington caucus will take place at 8:00
addm.. on Tuesday, July 5 in the Suwanee 18 Level 2 room.
Please also remember to bring stubs of iPod drawing tickets you've sold to
the caucus. It would be terrible if those who have purchased tickets weren't
in the actual drawing!
Also please remember to bring your banquet tickets to the caucus so that
Denise Mackenstadt can collect them for the banquet exchange so that the
Washington delegation may be seated together as has been our tradition.
See you in Orlando!
Mike Freeman, President
National Federation of the Blind of Washington
