PAC members and friends:
The Washington State library (WSL) is under attack, as you know the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library
(WTBBL) is a program under the WSL. This proposed consolidation into the Department of Heritage, Arts and Culture will
drastically affect WTBBLs ability to function at current levels of service to Patrons.
Call to action, a hearing is set for Thursday, March 31, 2011 before the State Government & Tribal Affairs committee in
House Hearing Room E at 8:00 a.m. in Olympia. WCB is providing a free bus from Seattle if you are able to attend. Please
contact me for more information on the transportation and if you are planning to attend and will not need transportation still let
me know you will be going.
As members of the PAC, and the organized Blind of Washington state we must stand together and let them know that this is
unacceptable, the State library must remain where it is under the Office of the Secretary of State.
Please contact me with any questions you may have, and as I learn more I will send it out to this list.
