Accessibility Camp Seattle is an unconference that brings people together from design, technology, and disability communities to discuss issues regarding the accessibility of digital materials.

Accessibility Camp Seattle is dedicated to the simple premise that "digital inclusion" is fundamental to our digital age. How we are building the digital world so that it welcomes and empowers everyone?

On Friday night, unconference attendees will eat good food, become familiar with the space and to get to know each other. As you meet new people, ask what they are passionate about. When you find someone with a similar passion, ask if they want to put it on the agenda for Saturday.

Accessibility Camp Seattle is a community-facilitated, participant-driven event. It is different from a standard conference, where the information flows from a speaker to attendees. At this event, the agenda is set by you and all attendees are encouraged to speak and listen.

By getting people together to talk and brainstorm about "digital inclusion," the Accessibility Camp unconference hopes to plant seeds of collaboration that will bear fruit outside of this event.

Day 2 at the Central Library, Saturday, May 21, 2011, 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Accessibility Camp Seattle is dedicated to the simple premise that "digital inclusion" is fundamental to our digital age. How we are building the digital world so that it welcomes and empowers everyone?

When you arrive on Saturday morning, find "the grid" -- topics drawn from Friday's meet & greet -- that represents the agenda for the day. There will be three sessions going at the same time and we will have four time slots throughout the day. Volunteers will be at "the grid" all day, taking suggestions for topics to add to the agenda. Feel free to add a topic, then get people talking, brainstorming and working towards new solutions!

The unconference is organized by a group of local accessibility advocates, with co-sponsorship from The Seattle Public Library and Microsoft.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome.

Friday night features a social with a buffet, and the main event will take place on Saturday. It is recommended that you arrive early.

Registration is required for both days of the unconference, and space is limited for the Friday portion of the event. To register, visit http://accessibilitycampseattle.org/.

The Library provides accommodations on request for physical access, communications or other needs to ensure services, activities and programs are available to people with disabilities.
