[nfbwatlk] NFB of Washington Scholarship Committee for 2012

Greetings.

 

Each year, the NFB of Washington awards scholarships to deserving blind
students from Washington attending post-secondary institutions of higher
learning or vocational training institutions. Two scholarships have
traditionally been given: the Beverly Prows Memorial Scholarship and the
Hazel tenBroek Memorial Scholarship. A committee is appointed to oversee
this program and pick scholarship winners. The committee need not issue both
scholarships.

 

I have appointed the following persons to the NFB of Washington Scholarship
Committee for 2012:

 

Marci Carpenter, Seattle, Chair

Maria Bradford, Spokane

Kaye Kipp, Vancouver

Michael Mello, Seattle

Bennett Prows, Kirkland

 

The committee will soon publish the application form for the scholarships,
together with rules for applying for them.

 

The scholar winners will be honored during the banquet of the NFB of
Washington's 2012 convention in Everett.

 

Heartfelt thanks go to Rita Szantay who has served admirably for many years
as Chair of the Scholarship Committee.
